KALMAR's Commercial was founded in 1967 by Michael Kalmar in the City of London. After a brief period in Knightsbridge, in 1986 KALMAR's Commercial moved to its current premises in Shad Thames by Tower Bridge, SE1 to service its core area of activity. Richard Kalmar then became a full partner. KALMARS Commercial have significantly helped to shape SE1 with a considerable involvement in the regeneration of the area.
In 1997 KALMARs Residential was founded, and has grown to become a successful independent limited company. In 2001 KALMARs Residential moved to new premises in Bermondsey Street and specialize in offering sales and lettings from the heart of SE1. 2007 saw significant changes of staff and the recruitment of a new energetic team with great potential.
In 2007 a new commercial office was opened, KALMARs Bromley LLP. With the recruitment of an experienced manager and a young enthusiastic team KALMARs Bromley are ideally placed to become the leading agents in the area. At a time when other agents are closing, KALMARs Bromely are bucking the trend by building on existing contacts and closing deals.
KALMARs Commercial and KALMARs Bromley deal with: Developments, Offices, Industrial and Retail. KALMARS Residential specialises in sales and lettings of new homes in developments sites we have sold through KALMARs Commercial.

KALMARS are well established in the areas around their offices, and well known in the property market. The KALMARs approach and unique selling point is encapsulated in the company mission statement:
Exceptional local knowledge
Excellent marketing flair
KALMARs aim to open a further five or six new offices, having created effective working practices at Jamaica Wharf and a blue print for future satellite offices in Bromley that can be readily reproduced/cloned elsewhere. KALMARs business model is based on having a small local business, with a greater degree of local knowledge and market penetration than is possible for companies in the West End, whilst competing with them in terms of professionalism, and working closely with the residential sister company.
The location of further offices is yet to be decided, being dependent on the weaknesses of competitors, the market and growth areas at the time. The Thames Gateway in particular is being watched.
Throughout all KALMARs business activities KALMARs aim to have a competitive and ethical environment. KALMARS remain closely involved with the local community, and have a culture in which staff achievement is well rewarded, both financially and in terms of job satisfaction.
