Richard Kalmar, Managing Director

Having joined his father in 1977, Richard worked in both industrial and office agency, which he has continued to practice ever since, with a particular emphasis on development work. Other activities have included; Chairing the local Chamber of Commerce; running the Shad Thames Business Club; organising SLICA (South London Industrial and Commercial Agents); he has been a director of Southwark Environment Agency; active in local school's Parent Teacher Assoc.; Vice Chairman of Friends of the Parks; a founder of the education and business alliance; and a long term member of the Industrial Agents Society, and office agents society.

Mickola Wilson BCS FRICS, Non-Executive Director

Mickola worked for Guardian Royal Exchange for over 20 years, as a property fund and development manager, for the last 5 years she was MD of the Property Fund Management division with circa £1bn funds under management and responsibility for the Group occupied estate. In 2000 Mickola joined MWB as head of the Fund Management division with £600m funds under management focused on the leisure and retail sectors.

In 2002, Mickola joined Teesland plc as CEO to a newly formed property fund management company listed on the London stock exchange, with a cap value of circa £20m and £250m of funds under management, during the following 5 years the company grew to a cap value of the order of £200m, with over £4bn of funds under management across UK, Western and Central Europe. The funds are serviced by local offices in 9 countries with over 250 staff within the group.
KALMARs are very fortunate to have Mickola as a non-executive director with all the experience and contacts she brings.

Mick Down, Director

Mick joined KALMARs in 2007 to oversee the rapidly growing rental and property management department. Mick has a wealth of experience in both residential sales and lettings and has a vast knowledge in all aspects of property management for both corporate and individual clients. The managed property portfolio has been steadily increasing in numbers over the last three years on both the residential and commercial sides.

Together with Mick Down and Ben Power the team has over 35 years experience in Sales and Lettings and are able to provide vendors, purchasers, landlords and tenants with the most efficient and knowledgeable service on selling, buying or letting residential property in the local area.

Josh Smith, Property Consultant

Josh started his career in Estate Agency in 2006. He first worked for Countrywide Mortgage Services, having been authorised by the FSA, providing advice and recommendation on Financial Services to applicants registered with Countrywide Estate Agencies in and around East Anglia.

Having worked in East Anglia for a number of years Josh relocated to London to take up a position in the West End of London for a well established lettings agency, and then moved to KALMARs in June 2009 to help form and develop the new Sales and Lettings Team based in SE1.

Ben Power, Property Consultant

Ben began his Estate Agency career back in 2003, working for Countrywide where he progressed through the company over 4 years to become an Assistant Branch Manager.

Having worked in a variety of areas within East Anglia Ben then relocated and started working for a well established Estate Agency in Ealing where he worked in both sales and lettings. In February 2009 Ben began his career working for KALMARs to help transform and develop the new Sales and Lettings Team based in SE1.

Elaine Barker, Office Administrator

Elaine has great property experience having joined KALMARs in 1993, then working as a PA to Michael Kalmar FRICS. She now mangages the office, drawing on her exstensive grounding and company loyalty to ensure that the best systems and supplies are utilised.
