KALMARs Commercial are an expanding firm of independent property advisers and estate agents. This expansion is being achieved through improving client service by planned growth and training, which has been demonstrated by our recently achieving "Investors In People" status. We have many years experience complemented by a young enthusiastic team with an unrivalled record in sales and lettings of commercial and residential properties in the South East London area..
Established in 1967 by Michael Kalmar FRICS, ISVA the company was originally known as Michael Kalmar & Company.
It has continuously dealt with all aspects of commercial property experiencing both good and bad market conditions over the years. Initially trading from The City, then the centre of commercial agency, KALMARs moved to Knightsbridge for some years but, having great belief in the City Fringe, Docklands and South East London area, moved to Jamaica Wharf by Tower Bridge in 1986.
Our principal objective is to provide a professional service with quick results whilst maintaining complete integrity. Our specialist areas include Development, Office, Industrial and Retail Agency.
We offer a comprehensive package on development projects starting at the site appraisals stage, often prior to acquisition, working with other professions in developing plans, continuing with sales and marketing advice, and concluding by arranging a letting or sale.
Having joined his father in 1977, Richard worked in both industrial and office agency, which he has continued to practice ever since, with a particular emphasis on development work. Other activities have included; Chairing the local Chamber of Commerce; running the Shad Thames Business Club; organising SLICA (South London Industrial and Commercial Agents); he has been a director of Southwark Environment Agency; active in local school's Parent Teacher Assoc.; Vice Chairman of Friends of the Parks; a founder of the education and business alliance; and a long term member of the Industrial Agents Society, and office agents society.

Donald qualified in Estate Management and after working in North London specialising in Property Management, joined KALMARs in April 1999, where he initially specialized in office agency and then moved into development agency. He specialises in developments.

Having worked for top firms of commercial agents for 20 years, Michael set up his own company in 1967. Having successfully traded for many years the company moved to the current Jamaica Wharf premises in 1986. He is now in charge of professional work including valuations, rent reviews and rating advice.

Adrian is qualified in Estate management and first worked in Central London in a General Practice surveying firm, he joined KALMARs in June 2003 and is currently specialising in Office Agency and professional work. He has subsequently gained good market knowledge of the going rates in this area and has quickly learned his trade in this active market.

James' lively approach to marketing small offices compliments Adrian Gurney's wealth of experience within the office sales / lettings team specialising in the SE1 area. He joined KALMARs in 2004, moving to the office team in 2007.

Wez j oined KALMARs in 2007 to look after the retail outlets and offices outside of SE1. He is currently studying for a degree Real Estate Management at Kingston University and recently completed his second year.

Vince joined Kalmars in 2007 to expand his knowledge and experience within the commercial property sector. He has worked within residential property investments, both overseas and within the UK. Looking to continue his progression, he has now moved onto Developments to help grow the division. Vince has also obtained a Bachelors Degree in Business Management.

Elaine has great property expericence having joined KALMARs in 1993, then working as a PA to Michael Kalmar FRICS. She now mangages the office drawing on her exstensive grounding and company loyalty to ensure that the best systems and supplies are utilised.

Kelly has many years’ professional experience and works for KALMARs Commercial and Residential as Operations Manager. Kelly’s main role is to help the company grow through opening additional offices and building on both new and existing business relationships. Kelly has recently completed an ICT course and plans to undertake further training in management and strategic direction.
