Established in 1967 by Michael Kalmar FRICS, ISVA the company was originally known as Michael Kalmar & Company.
It has continuously dealt with all aspects of commercial property experiencing both good and bad market conditions over the years. Initially trading from The City, then the centre of commercial agency, KALMARs moved to Knightsbridge for some years but, having great belief in the City Fringe, Docklands and South East London area, moved to Jamaica Wharf by Tower Bridge in 1986. KALMARs opened a second office, located in Bromley, in 2007.
Having joined his father in 1977, Richard worked in both industrial and office agency, which he has continued to practice ever since, with a particular emphasis on development work. Other activities have included; Chairing the local Chamber of Commerce; running the Shad Thames Business Club; organising SLICA (South London Industrial and Commercial Agents); he has been a director of Southwark Environment Agency; active in local school's Parent Teacher Assoc.; Vice Chairman of Friends of the Parks; a founder of the education and business alliance; and a long term member of the Industrial Agents Society, and office agents society.

Mickola worked for Guardian Royal Exchange for over 20 years, as a property fund and development manager, for the last 5 years she was MD of the Property Fund Management division with circa £1bn funds under management and responsibility for the Group occupied estate. In 2000 Mickola joined MWB as head of the Fund Management division with £600m funds under management focused on the leisure and retail sectors.
In 2002, Mickola joined Teesland plc as CEO to a newly formed property fund management company listed on the London stock exchange, with a cap value of circa £20m and £250m of funds under management, during the following 5 years the company grew to a cap value of the order of £200m, with over £4bn of funds under management across UK, Western and Central Europe. The funds are serviced by local offices in 9 countries with over 250 staff within the group.
KALMARs are very fortunate to have Mickola as a non-executive director with all the experience and contacts she brings.
Paul had a long standing grounding in residential sales, before transferring his attention and skills to the commercial market.
Paul specialises in development and site assembly. With a successful business history that is countrywide, he has notable achievements within central London.
Paul was recruited by KALMARs to expand their business into the Bromley area, thus creating a two-pronged approach to the South East London market.

James joined KALMARs in 2008 to work in the Bromley office. James has been working in Residential Sales and Lettings for the last 3 years and has gained a excellent knowledge of the area and market. James is now putting his experience to work in the commercial market.

Kim has worked in the Estate Agency Industry for the past 7 years and joined KALMARs in September 2007 as the Secretary for Bromley Office. Kim uses her organisation and administration skills to help maintain an efficient working office.

Kelly has many years’ professional experience and works for KALMARs Commercial and Residential as Operations Manager. Kelly’s main role is to help the company grow through opening additional offices and building on both new and existing business relationships. Kelly has recently completed an ICT course and plans to undertake further training in management and strategic direction.
